shoe-aholic

That's me! I have been stocking up on cute shoes for my wardrobe. I am so tired of wearing flats all the time. My wardrobe has certainly become more grown up (read: more dressy) over the past year. I am really happy with all the skirts and dresses that I'll be wearing when the weather gets warmer. I am really into this, getting rid of all my old clothes (even from high school! even!) and starting over with something that's more "me" right now. I want to be excited to wear cute outfits. Not the same old stuff just to be dressed.

Can you believe we might get snow today?? Ugh

Anyway, here are some of my cute shoes from my closet:

I already blogged about these cuties!

These Calvin Kleins were on clearance for $50 and then 20% off of that! Lucky!

I got these for working out. Love how comfortable they are!

I got these for my trip to Mexico in November :)

And...my favorite! I love these! They go so well with brown tights!

There's your peek into my growing shoe collection. It's kind of an addiction!

PS: Look at all these shoes:

sewing my own clothes again.

I saw a post over on I Go By Katie about patterns and sewing your own clothes. I have been wanting to get back into making my own clothes for a long time. So, I went to Joann's and got some new patterns! They were on sale for $1.99 each, some of them regular $17! I got a steal! I also looked at some clearance fabric they had even though I do have plenty of vintage fabrics. I like to look anyway. I found two different ones that are perfect for the projects I'm planning. One is a red rayon with big pink flowers. Perfect for a skirt to wear with a tucked in white top. I also got a mustard yellow with a winter flower pattern that will be great as a sleeveless blouse to wear with linen pants this summer. I can't wait to get started! I can add another to-do on my spring break list.

I'm making the "C" skirt with this fabric.

I'm thinking "C" blouse on this one.

Oh, and Sadie came over to say hi while I was taking photos :)

Happy Sunday!

new shoes and my hope for a better outfit future

I bought a pair of shoes yesterday and I think they are adorable. When I saw them they instantly reminded me of these. She is a major major fashion inspiration for me.

I am trying to incorporate more dressy things into my wardrobe instead of my normal jeans and shirt or blouse, necklace, cardigan, rings and ponytail/headband I do most days of the week. When I'm in the store I have to force myself to buy less casual things. I have to ask myself too if certain things will make at least 2 outfits. This is how I justify spending money. This keeps me from making impulse purchases too.

What do you think?

These shoes have awesome outfit potential! I think they can be dressed up or down and they aren't too dressy. They are me-dressy haha

I have been looking at blogs that post outfits pics and trying to figure out how to do new things with my clothes that I already have. I swear I have no idea what I'm doing really. That's why I have never done an outfit post. Maybe I'll get better at dressing cute/dressy and actually do an outfit post!

Tomorrow is Friday! Woohoo!

winter breakdown

It is the last day of winter break for me. Tomorrow will be the start of my last semester in school until I decide to go further with grad school. Squee! So, I am going shopping today! First, IKEA to have lunch and walk around, Macy's to buy myself a new outfit for school with my gift card, and Barnes and Noble to use my gift card. I think I finally might get to see The Fighter today too!

I'm going to make the most of it because starting tomorrow, it's back to reading (not for fun) books and doing research again.

Have a happy day!
